As its first order of business, TBS New Media intends to pursue opportunities in the entry level of the DVD market, where products can retail for as little as $5 or less. This will allow the company to quickly build both its library and distribution channels, as sales volumes in this segment of the market, typically referred to as the value-priced sector, are among the largest of any segment with significant growth still to come. As TBS establishes itself in this sector, the company will expand its scope both in terms of the nature of the content and the price points they sell at. Big budget films, for example, can be a source of increased revenues and profits, as can music DVDs, which are also experiencing tremendous growth in demand.
